I sense a darkening shape pulling at my arm,
It urges me to follow where I know it will do harm.
I turn to run but freeze with fear as I hear a hollowing sound,
With darkness drawing nearer, I tumble to the ground.
I fight my way to the brightest place, I can find along the road,
For I know within the presence of light, the darkness will erode.
When I am able to stand up straight and see clearly with my eyes,
I catch a glimpse of the obscure shape, as it slowly fades and dies.
I gather up my strength and tend my wounds, for I know it will go on,
With each assault I grow stronger and the shadow will soon be gone.

Love it!!!!! I read some of your poems on here, and I find them amazing!!! I also read your bio, and I can totally relate!!! I've always felt out of touch with (I guess) the common way of life (I'm a teenage girl obsessed with baseball and the band RUSH...), and photography, music, and literature (especially poetry!) are my forms of expression.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, keep it up!!!! :)
Thank you Tressa! :-)
